20 May Sea Captain’s Shrimp Cocktail for a Jumbo Cause
Sea Captain’s House in Myrtle Beach is raising awareness and utilizing our award-winning local seafood for a good cause. We’ve decided to partner with the American Heart Association – Waccamaw and for every purchase of a Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, we’ll donate $2 back to the American Heart Walk.
The American Heart Association is the oldest and largest voluntary organization focused on cardiovascular health and dedicating their time to fighting heart disease and stroke. According to the American Heart Association, or AHA, heart disease is the number one killer worldwide, with stroke ranking second globally. One of their largest fundraising events is the Heart Walk that raises money for research, education and to achieve their mission of saving lives from cardiovascular disease.
On a local level, the 2019 Waccamaw Heart & Stroke Walk will take place in Myrtle Beach on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The noncompetitive 3.1 mile walk is from 8 am to 11 am at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex. There will be light refreshments and a fun zone for the kids, and is a fun event the whole family can get involved in! Overall the Waccamaw Heart & Stroke Walk is a positive experience and a way to bring the community together to raise awareness and funds for a disease that affects the whole world.
At Sea Captain’s, we typically serve around 400 to 500 Shrimp Cocktail a month and think this is an amazing way to give back not only on a local level, but support a worldwide non-profit organization. We’ll be participating in this fundraising event for the Heart Walk from now until the end of June. So if you’re wondering if you should indulge in an appetizer during your oceanfront dining experience at Sea Captain’s House – go ahead and order a Shrimp Cocktail – you’ll enjoy it even more knowing it’s for a good cause!
