Autumn Arrangements at Sea Captain’s House

As the weather cools and the crowds fade, summer slips into fall in Myrtle Beach. It may not “feel” like autumn with temperatures still reaching the high 70s, but the atmosphere in Sea Captain’s House Restaurant and our menu reflect the changing season. Seasonal spices are added to our dishes and our chefs incorporate vegetables such as butternut squash, pumpkin and sweet potatoes, into the menu.

Besides tweaking our menu, we also change up the decor a bit on the inside of Sea Captain’s House. Our fresh floral arrangements reflect what’s currently blooming. These beautiful bouquets aren’t bought pre-arranged in a store, but rather assembled by one of our talented employees, Dorothy. Her passion for flowers and natural green-thumb is evident in the arrangements she creates. Inspired by nature, she incorporates certain elements found outdoors during this time of year and current plants flourishing in her garden at home in her compilations.

This time of year you will find arrangements using burnt orange sunflowers, classic sunflowers, azaleas, bi-color roses, varied greens, mums and ivy. The colors of the flowers highlight the warm hues of the season – reds, orange and yellows. Think explosion of fiery autumn sunsets in a floral arrangement. From wooden sticks with butterflies on the ends and cattails to the burlap ribbon tied around the vases – it’s those extra touches that make her arrangements unique.

Between the mums by the fireplace and our award winning white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake – come get a “taste of fall” when you dine with us during September through November.
